How Does Circle Justice Work?
Circle Justice only works when both parties want to work together to find a peaceful and constructive solution to the problem. Once both parties are willing to participate, they then send a form to Circle Justice Offices to tell them why they would want to participate in Circle Justice. If they are approved, the Offices will send a facilitator to arrange peaceful meetings between the two parties. If the victim is not comfortable meeting face-to-face with the offender, often in the case of a physical assault, then the facilitator is responsible for arranging their communication, commonly through letters or Skype.

Many people are involved in the Circle Justice meetings. There are two main parties, though. The offender, their family, and their lawyer make up one party. The other party is made up of the victim, their family, and their lawyer. There will also be a facilitator at the meetings to keep the peace between the parties and make sure that they reach a solution that is satisfactory to both parties. Any concerned member of their community may attend the meeting as well, unless the parties wish to keep the meetings private. This may seem like a lot of work and time put into such an unimportant situation, but the system provides lasting results. And the facilitators are well trained to doing their job in the circle justice program. They are also very experienced in doing this. You need not worry about how it will all work. If you are involved as a party, all you have to do is attend the meeting and participate.
